  • In a landmark act of generosity and vision, Dar ul Misk (DUM) Welfare Organization partnered with Mr. Abdul Qayum Khan, a renowned philanthropist, to lay the foundation for a brighter future in Umerabad, Takht Bhai. At a ceremony held on Monday, December 9, 2024, Mr. Khan officially donated a prime piece of land to DUA. This land will be used to construct essential welfare facilities to uplift the underprivileged.

    The event, attended by community leaders, Dar ul Misk members, and local residents, began with a site visit to the donated property. The formal proceedings were held at the Said Akbar Khan Hujra, a historic and symbolic venue.

    "A New Dawn for Umerabad"

    In his address, Mr. Abdul Latif, Chairman of Darul Misk Welfare Organization, expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Khan. He said:

    "This land has been part of my family for generations, and I feel privileged to dedicate it to a cause that will benefit the community for decades to come, Dar ul Misk’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of orphans and the underprivileged inspired me to make this contribution. This is my gift to the future, and I hope it encourages others to give back as well."

    The donation includes a clause ensuring that neither Mr. Khan nor his legal heirs will make any future claims on the land or the structures built upon it. He then added:

    "This ensures that the land remains exclusively for the benefit of the community"

    Dar ul Misk’s Vision

    In his address, Mr. Abdul Latif, Chairman of Dar ul Misk Welfare Organization, expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Khan.

    "Today is a historic day for Dar ul Misk and the people of Umerabad, This land will enable us to build an orphanage, a school, and a community support center—facilities that will serve as pillars of hope for countless individuals."

    He further emphasized DUA’s innovative approach to sustainability.

    "We plan to utilize the roadside portion of the land to construct shops, the rental income from which will support our welfare projects. This sustainable model reflects our commitment to ensuring the long-term impact of this initiative."

    Ms. Shaista Mukhtar, General Secretary of DUA, also spoke about the organization’s mission.

    "This is not just about buildings; it is about creating opportunities, changing lives, and empowering future generations,"
    "The generosity of Mr. Abdul Qayum Khan is a reminder of the incredible things we can achieve when we work together."

    Community Leaders Applaud the Initiative​

    The ceremony was attended by DUA members, including Ms. Palwasha Alam, Ms. Mahmooda Latif, Mr. Shahid Akbar, Ms. Bushra Shah, and Ms. Nazia Alam, who each played a role in organizing the event.Local dignitaries also praised the initiative. Mr. Shahid Akbar, a member of DUA said:

    "Today, we witnessed a moment that will shape the future of Umerabad, This partnership is a powerful example of how communities can come together to solve pressing challenges."

    Ms. Nazia Alam reflected on the broader implications of the project. She said:

    "The facilities that will rise on this land will be a lifeline for so many in need,This collaboration is a symbol of hope and a call to action for others to contribute to the welfare of society."

    A Legacy for Generations

    The ceremony concluded with the signing of the MOU, a moment witnessed by community elders and other attendees. Afterward, refreshments were served as guests engaged in discussions about the transformative potential of the project.

    Darul Misk’s initiative, empowered by the generosity of Mr. Abdul Qayum Khan, is set to make a lasting impact on Umerabad. This collaboration embodies the spirit of giving and the power of vision to create meaningful change.

    Phase 1 involves the construction and operation of the orphanage along with its support services.
    Moving into Phase 2, we aspire to construct and operate the women's shelter, senior home, and rehab center.
