In a landmark act of generosity and vision, Dar ul Misk (DUM) Welfare
Organization partnered with Mr. Abdul Qayum Khan, a renowned philanthropist,
to lay the foundation for a brighter future in Umerabad, Takht Bhai. At a
ceremony held on Monday, December 9, 2024, Mr. Khan officially donated a
prime piece of land to DUA. This land will be used to construct essential
welfare facilities to uplift the underprivileged.
The event, attended by community leaders, Dar ul Misk members, and local
residents, began with a site visit to the donated property. The formal
proceedings were held at the Said Akbar Khan Hujra, a historic and symbolic
venue.
"A New Dawn for Umerabad"
In his address, Mr. Abdul Latif, Chairman of Darul Misk Welfare
Organization, expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Khan. He said:
"This land has been part of my family for generations, and I feel
privileged to dedicate it to a cause that will benefit the community for
decades to come, Dar ul Misk’s unwavering commitment to the
welfare of orphans and the underprivileged inspired me to make this
contribution. This is my gift to the future, and I hope it encourages others
to give back as well."
The donation includes a clause ensuring that neither Mr. Khan nor his legal
heirs will make any future claims on the land or the structures built upon
it. He then added:
"This ensures that the land remains exclusively for the benefit of the
community"
Dar ul Misk’s Vision
In his address, Mr. Abdul Latif, Chairman of Dar ul Misk Welfare
Organization, expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Khan.
"Today is a historic day for Dar ul Misk and the people of
Umerabad, This land will enable us to build an orphanage, a school, and a
community
support center—facilities that will serve as pillars of hope for countless
individuals."
He further emphasized DUA’s innovative approach to sustainability.
"We plan to utilize the roadside portion of the land to construct
shops, the rental income from which will support our welfare projects. This
sustainable model reflects our commitment to ensuring the long-term impact
of this initiative."
Ms. Shaista Mukhtar, General Secretary of DUA, also spoke about the
organization’s mission.
"This is not just about buildings; it is about creating
opportunities, changing lives, and empowering future generations,"

the initiative. Mr. Shahid Akbar, a member of DUA said:

The ceremony concluded with the signing of the MOU, a moment witnessed by
community elders and other attendees. Afterward, refreshments were served as

project.
